Wolfgang Ötschmaier has been competing on the European international circuit for more than 20 years. He has built most of his career between Austria, Italy, and Germany, with consistent appearances in CSI2* and CSI3* competitions, while also developing sport horses for high-level competition. He represented Austria at the 2005 European Show Jumping Championships with Vasco Da Gama 3, finishing 45th individually and 10th with the Austrian team, marking his only participation in a major international championship. In recent years, he has regularly performed on the Austrian and Italian CSI2* circuit. In 2025, he notably won a CSI2* class in Wiener Neustadt with Lebouche, a horse with which he has achieved numerous international placings. He also recorded several ranked performances in Busto Arsizio in 2026, including a 5th place in a CSI2* 1.35 m class with Lebouche, alongside appearances in 1.45 m Grand Prix classes with Zidane 7. Partnered with horses such as Lebouche, Zidane 7, and For Future Z, he regularly competes in events across Austria, Italy, and Central Europe.
