Sameh El Dahan began riding at the age of five in Egypt and won the national championship in 2009. In 2018, he became the first Egyptian rider to win a Grand Prix event in Paris. That same year, he claimed victory in the CSIO Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Grand Prix in Calgary with his mare Suma’s Zorro. In 2021, he chose to become a British rider.
