Based in Belgium at Stal Philippaerts in Oudsbergen, Nicola Philippaerts comes from one of the country’s most renowned show jumping families. The son of top Belgian rider Ludo Philippaerts, he and his twin brother Olivier have competed on the pony, junior and young rider circuits since childhood. At just 18 years old, Nicola claimed his first CSI5* Grand Prix victory and went on to represent Belgium in several major international championships.
In 2023, he won the Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule aboard the outstanding Katanga. Two years later, he became European Team Champion alongside Gilles Thomas, Thibeau Spits and Pieter Devos, before closing the year by claiming the Belgian Indoor Championship title in Mechelen in late December.
