José Maria began riding at the age of three and after a long break began his show jumping career at the age of 34. After his first major competition in 2008 in the EquitaLyon Grand Prix, he went on to represent Argentina twice in the World Equestrian Games and twice in the Olympic Games.
Two years after his triumph in the Rolex Grand Prix of Brussels on the Rolex Series in 2024 aboard Finn Lente, the pillar of the Argentine team delivers one of the finest performances of his career in 2026: he claims a prestigious 2nd place in the legendary Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen, as part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
