Fernando Martínez Sommer has established himself on the international scene through a career marked by rigorous training, strong performance, and a thoughtful equestrian philosophy. Trained in the United States and based in the Netherlands and Belgium since 2019 after working with Gerardo Tazzer, he is now a rising figure in Mexican show jumping.
He claimed victory at the CSI5* in Cannes in 2022 with Charlie Harper, and at the CSI3* in Opglabbeek in 2023 with Lady van de Haarterhoeve. He notably excelled in Mexico City in 2024, delivering a decisive double-clear round with Lady van de Haarterhoeve.
A thoughtful and conscientious athlete, Fernando places trust and the well-being of his horses at the center of his approach, applying a strong ethological sensitivity in his daily training.
