Andreas Schou began riding at six and quickly made his mark in juniors and young riders, competing at the European Championships in 2006 and 2007. A consistent presence on the circuit, he has participated in seven European Championships, two World Championships, and represented Denmark at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Based at Absolute Horses in Denmark with his brother Christian, Andreas is known for developing and riding his own horses, including Darc de Lux and Independent, whom he has brought up to CSI5* level. He notably won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Vilamoura in 2021. Internationally, he placed 4th in the CSI5*-W Grand Prix at Équita Lyon with Independent and finished 5th in the World Cup Final aboard Darc de Lux in 2022. In March 2025, he secured 3rd place in the CSI5* Paris Hermès Grand Prix Prix du 24 Faubourg with Billy Matador. Recognized for his tactical mindset and consistency, Andreas ranked within the world’s top 35 at the end of 2022.
