Originally from Spain, Alberto Sánchez-Cozar has been riding under the Mexican flag since 2017. With over 950 international starts and 44 official victories to his name, he has built a reputation for consistency and precision in the ring.
In March 2025, he captured the CSI2* Grand Prix of Mexico City (1.45m) with CBS Khantastic. At the CSIO5* of Mexico in 2023, he made headlines by finishing first and second in the 1.50m Two-Phase Challenge with Union de la Nutria and Abril Hilcha Z, respectively—an impressive feat that highlighted both his skill and depth of horsepower.
Known for his meticulous approach, Alberto has developed strong partnerships with several top horses, most notably Catover, a high-level Holsteiner stallion. Since March 2022, the pair have maintained an exceptional 86% top-10 placing rate in 1.45m classes, peaking with a CSI5* victory in San Miguel de Allende.
Alberto Sánchez-Cozar continues to be a pillar of the Mexican team, combining technical accuracy with a deep understanding of his horses.
