One of the most anticipated events of the Jumping International de Dinard, the legendary Derby Saur de la Région Bretagne brought excitement and admiration to the Val Porée grass arena this Saturday afternoon. With its unique course of 21 obstacles and 24 efforts, this CSI3* – 1.45m Table A against the clock is unlike any other — combining technique, endurance, and bravery.
15 riders lined up to tackle this extraordinary challenge.
Edward Levy (FRA) was first on course with For Millions de Pao but chose to retire midway through. It was Nicolas Layec (FRA) who first completed the full course, finishing with just 4 faults in 169.31 seconds aboard Georgio Louvo Z — a solid, composed performance that earned strong applause from the crowd.
But the star of the class was Sophie Hinners (GER). Twelfth to go, she and Munin delivered the first and only clear round, clocking in at 172.15 seconds. Her confident and seamless ride secured the win and crowned her the new queen of Dinard’s most iconic class.
Robin Lesqueren (FRA) and Galax du Rouet claimed third place with 8 faults in 163.85 seconds — completing the podium of this remarkable challenge.
The course proved demanding, with five combinations unable to finish — a testament to the intensity of this one-of-a-kind derby.
